Start with a poem. Collect visual representations and objects to represent what it means to you. Taken together, our individual collections of artifacts will be one unique library. Using these shared ingredients, we will each rearrange these shared ingredients into our own visual interpretations of the poem’s essence. We will read the poem together and share our poetic ‘soups’, finding new interpretations and ways to understand it together.

About the host:

Angelina Sorokin is an artist, graphic designer and illustrator in Sacramento. She lives to create and explores many different art forms. This is what she thinks is most important: expressing yourself by creating, being nice to yourself and others, smiling, exploring, dreaming, thinking abstractly and making up fun personal projects. Her series “Sunday Soup” uses photography to combine poetry with everyday objects as a way to explore a visual approach to poetry.
